New Producemobile Site

IAE is happy to announce that the GCFD has offered Evanston an ADDITIONAL Producemobile distribution of USDA surplus produce for the four months only (March-June) and will operate from 3:30-5:00 PM. We will be distributing at the Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center. Their staff is very enthusiastic about hosting this additional Producemobile and has been very helpful in figuring out the details. This Producemobile site will receive 3-5 pallets of produce for distribution.

Tuesday March 26 was our first distribution of produce. There were 17 adult and 5 youth volunteers working hard to bag and distribute produce to over 115 guests. The guests received apples, sweet potatoes, spinach, bread and oranges. In addition, there were several Fleetwood-Jordain staff members who helped set up tables, load in produce and help guests.

We can always use the additional volunteers at this this site for the next three months and at our regular 2nd Tuesday morning Producemobile distribution at Robert Crown Center. If you are interested in volunteering contact Rita Bailey at  We have many, many food insecure people living in our area and I know you will be as excited as we are to provide even more fresh food to our hungry neighbors.
