Kurt and Kathy Roderer have been associated with Immanuel Lutheran Church for several years.
Kurt was responsible for building the congregation’s lovely tracker pipe organ, and Kathy has often played this organ to support our worship and accompany the choir. Together, the Roderers help us at Immanuel Lutheran make beautiful music.
They also make beautiful “music” in their work for the good of their neighbors. They help to prepare and serve meals at Hilda’s Place for the residents there and join in meal preparation and service for the Sundays that Immanuel provides lunch through St. Paul Lutheran Church’s Soup Kitchen. Kathy and Kurt support the new Bridges to Home project that is helping to provide housing for young men who have completed their residency at Our House, the supportive housing program of Connections for the Homeless.
In typical self-effacing fashion, Kathy describes their volunteering as “a work in progress.” We, however, would say it is a beautiful part of the harmony of Immanuel’s efforts to show love for our neighbors. Immanuel Lutheran Church is proud to name Kurt and Kathy as this year’s Vision Keepers.
